Around the world in 80 km… as a tribe!

Our promise? A world tour without leaving the Bassin in Arcachon and minus the jet lag! Add to that the possibility of doing everything by bike, and without a passport... a family epic around the Bassin of Arcachon, to experience with your tribe!

Day 1: in the meanders of an African delta, between Bassin and forest

First stop: the train station Biganos ! In just 3 hours, you will be far from the hustle and bustle of Paris, at the heart of the Bassin of Arcachon !
Fresh off the train, collect your bikes at one of the rental companies near the station (or have it delivered) and start your journey towards Mios, a pretty town nestled between river and forest! A change of scenery guaranteed!

Take the opportunity to get rid of all your gear. to your accommodation ! For an authentic experience, why not opt for a bed and breakfast ? There are several on Mios 🏡 !

Continue your morning by playing apprentice explorers, discovering the banks of the Eyre with the Tèrra Aventura trail “From the Amazon to the Eyre” » (duration: approximately 2 hours) 🔎.

Adventure makes you hungry! For the more organized, it's a picnic on the banks of the Eyre, and for the others no-stress: The Rotisserie of Val de l'Eyre is there, like an oasis in the desert (or rather in the forest 🌲). Founded in 1982, it is open from May to October and proposes to delicious free-range roast chickens, the old way!

Our advice : In total you have 6 Terra Aventura courses to discover just on the scale of the Bassin! To best prepare your stay, it is by here !

Continue this day off the beaten track direction Audenge, and its Certainly-Graveyron domains ! In the sky, on the water…and even underground, set off to explore species that populate these natural spaces 🦢🐚🦔🐢! Become an expert on local flora and fauna by taking part in guided tours organized by theHeart of Bassin Tourist Office !

Our advice : To end this day in style, depending on the season (from June to October), treat yourself to an open-air concert with some tapas at the Mios Guingette at PO'potes ! Theme evenings that will take you on a journey: in Spanish feria mode, oriental evening, Creole or even American-style blues!

Where to eat, where to sleep?

You are looking for a cozy nest for your stay? One small intimate bistro for dinner ? To better organize your stay, find all restaurants and accommodations , which is Arcachon's Bassin mobile application !

Day 2: Wingbeats and Paddle Strokes

In the morning, get on your bike and reach Biganos station and climb into the train with your bikes direction Le Teich for a morning under the sign of ornithology !

Hike through the heart of the Réserve Ornithologique du Teich and try to observe one of the 328 species of birds who stay there, between woodlands, reed beds, meadows, maritime marshes and lagoons!

And yes, because the Bassin of Arcachon is located at the heart of one of the most important migratory corridors on the planet : the migratory corridor East Atlantic, used each year by tens of millions of birds from the Nordic lands (Northern Europe, Russia, Siberia, Iceland, Greenland, Canada…). A large part of these birds transit through France every autumn to reach the Mediterranean basin or Africa.

So these are different species that you will discover over the seasons, and depending on migration periods!

Our advice ⭐: From April to November, opt for a combined visit! The concept: a collective canoe trip on the Leyre (or the Eyre, both are said here), Then a discovery on foot of the Reserve with a naturalist guide ! From 6 years old, more info by here !

Lunch side, you can opt for a picnic during your walk, or a gourmet stop at the Delta Brewery located at the entrance to the Reserve !

For the afternoon, continue your world tour towards America, and more particularly the Great Lakes region by going to Lake Cazaux, has La Teste de Buch! And yes, because it is still the 6th largest freshwater lake from France!

Transport tips 🚲 : To get there from Le Teich, opt for a mix train/bike ! Some rental companies have the possibility to come pick up your bike directly where you will be ! You just need to tell them in advance (at the time of booking for example) and they will collect your bike from Teich station.

Transport tips 🚲 : Once we arrived at the La Teste train station, you can join COBAS route 11, towards the Cazaux nautical stopover ! But before that, get some new bikes from one of our rental companies in La Teste, or have it delivered directly to the station ! Just think to bring them back safely when you return, or to anticipate their recovery. 😉

Once at the lake, there is something for everyone: rather chill on the beach, apprentice explorers on a sailboat, sportsmen on a paddle or custom made Davy Crockett canoeing on the Leyre!

Our advice ⭐: on sunny days, arrive in the middle of the afternoon and enjoy a sunset over the lake: the ideal spot for a family picnic ! You will also find several restaurants around the lake, they are all in Arcachon's Bassin application !

For your night, choose accommodation on La Teste de Buch, close to Lake Cazaux.

Day 3: sandbanks, like in Polynesia

The end of your trip is approaching… But there is no question of leaving without visiting the Arcachon's largest beach, and its sandbanks that look like the end of the world: Pereire beach !

On the program: relaxation, games in the sand and on structures for children and even skate or roller skate session for the most equipped! At low tide, go explore the sandbanks! It almost looks like you're walking on water!

Our advice : when returning to Arcachon station, take the opportunity to treat yourself to a short walk in the city center from Arcachon! This is the opportunity to find your best memories to please your loved ones !
