Around the world in 80 km…with friends!

Our promise? A world tour without leaving the Bassin in Arcachon and minus the jet lag! Add to that the possibility of doing everything by bike, and without a passport... an adventure that's both sporty and chill around the Bassin of Arcachon, to experience with friends!

Day 1: California love ☀️

First stop: the La Teste de Buch station ! In just 3 hours, you'll be far from the hustle and bustle of Paris!
Fresh off the train, collect your bikes at one of the rental companies near the station (or have it delivered): this is where your sporting adventure begins!

Take the opportunity to get rid of all your gear. to your accommodation ! For an immersive experience with friends, why not opt for one of our campsites ? Chalets, lodges, tents…your happiness is definitely found with us!

What's on the agenda for today? Sport, sun…and chill! We set sail for the ocean beaches of La Teste de Buch, they are accessible by bicycle via the cycle path !

On site, learn to surf, you are on the West Coast 🤙. To help you, our surf schools are there for that: courses, delivery of equipment…by the end of the morning, the words leash, shore and swell will no longer hold any secrets for you! Already a surfer? You can also have your equipment delivered without taking a course 😉!

And because we know there are always some who are less motivated, take advantage of the vastness of the ocean beaches to perfect your tan around of a good book (and why not Jules Verne? 👀)

After the effort, the comfort: picnic on the beach or lunch in one of our restaurants nearby, it's up to you!

Our advice : after the lunch break, why not opt for a little digestive “hike” to the Dune du Pilat ? By bike, you can access it for free.

For the afternoon, head to Arcachon to discover the Bassin in the most beautiful way: on the water ! On the boat side, there is something for everyone : traditional with the pinnace and the barge (oyster plate), sportsman with the sailboat, or more modern with the star ! On the water, you might even come across canoes...Admit it, it's a change of scenery!

To choose your excursion captain, we make your life easier: all our professionals can be found in this list !

On the water, feel the spirit of a world tour with the panorama offered by the Bassin: the Dune of Pilat in the distance, the Arguin sandbank, digital nomads are welcome. Need to urgently print something, administrative assistance, or simply wifi? No stress: fishing villages on the Peninsula side, the iconic districts of Arcachon and Pyla, the Lighthouse and the tip of Cap Ferret, Bird Island and of course, our famous "Cabanes Tchanquées" !

Our advice : The must-have to end this day in style? A dinner directly on the water facing the sunset, one-on-one with the Cabins! Several professionals offer this possibility, don't hesitate to ask them when you book!

Where to eat, where to sleep?

You are looking for a cozy nest for your stay? One small intimate bistro for dinner ? To better organize your stay, find all restaurants and accommodations , which is Arcachon's Bassin mobile application !

Day 2: “It’s a peak, it’s a cape, what am I saying, it’s a peninsula” 😎

Of good hour and good mood : heading for the Peninsula! Once everyone is on their bikes, head to the Thiers d'Arcachon jetty to board a UBA boat, to the Belisarius pier on the other side! Allow 30 minutes and good news: you can take your bike on board!

As soon as we arrived, set sail for the Lighthouse from Cap Ferret! Continue to get your heart pumping, and by climbing its 258 steps: The view from above is worth it! And inside, it almost feels like we're on a ship so much so that the maritime identity of the Bassin is present there! Vasco da Gama and Magellan had better watch out!

With your breath back, treat yourself to a iodine parenthesis on the side of the fishing district. The opportunity to taste some seafood, with your feet (almost) in the water!

Our advice ⭐: Between mid-June and mid-September, take the opportunity to stroll on the Cap-Ferret market : you will find there certainly some good memories from here, to bring back a little bit of Bassin at home ! And for those who are not too shopaholics: find yourself in Spain for a few pintxos inside the Covered Market !

For the afternoon, you will have a little more Atlantic ? Several surf spots exist on the Peninsula, and of course several schools! For beginners and experienced players alike will find the playground that suits them!

Rather ride, but on dirt? Did you know that Tony Hawk and his American team took to the bowl of the skate park in the village of Four, on the Peninsula ? Just that!

Our advice ⭐: The journeys may seem long on the Peninsula, so it is best to opt for an electric bike ! And be careful to stay on the cycle paths (natural spaces are not accessible with so-called motorized vehicles) !

So that your night take on the appearance of an African safari, let yourself be tempted by a lodge tent or a Kabane at Camping Les Pastourelles ! The pros: you won't run the risk of coming face to face with a rhino, and you have a sea view!
For a campsite involved in an environmental approach, choose the Camping Aux Couleurs du Ferret and its cabins on stilts in the heart of the forest, labeled European Ecolabel !

All of the accommodation can be found here!

Day 3: on the Ganges or the Amazon 🎶

It smells like the end...but you will finish the journey as you started it: SPORTINGLY! Regain the Belisarius pier (all year round) Where the Canon jetty (from June to September), to leave with your bikes towards Arcachon with a trans-basin shuttle !

Once in Arcachon, remember to return your bikes before taking the train towards Biganos station. Once there, rent new bikes at Biganos station, in order to be able to go to the port of Biganos meeting our Little Amazon: the Leyre…🛶

At the bend of the river, Pocahontas style, embark on a stroll along the water in a Canadian pirogue or traditional canoe. 135 km long, the Leyre rises in the Landes and flows into the Bassin of Arcachon. 💧

Located on one of the most important migratory routes in Europe, the delta is made up of'a mosaic of floodplain meadows and woodlands, dyked areas, reed beds, salt meadows fragmented by lakes, but also sandbanks and mudflats crisscrossed by numerous channels.

Our advice : take away your picnic with you, to be able to make a stopover on the banks of the Leyre! Find all the canoe providers this way!

Once your session is over, it's time to head back Biganos station and gently leaving the Bassin of Arcachon. It's only goodbye! 👋
