Fall Girls Weekend
The freshness that is slowly returning, the days that are getting shorter...
However, autumn is a perfect season to discover or rediscover the Arcachon Bay !
Almost like a local, quietly, taking your time: follow the guide!
By bike from Cap Ferret to the Lighthouse
Like an air from the end of the world Cap Ferret Lighthouse. We let's rent bikes for a morning walk and follow this famous red and white point which rises with pride in the middle of the pines!

Almost no one! At this season, it is the calm that we are looking for…

Head to the Cap Ferret oyster port a few pedal strokes for a gourmet break in "The Little Ferret Pastry",
the address of the locals to have a tea and a pastry on the terrace. Moreover, everyone spreads the word and we confirm:
their waffles are part of best of Bassin !

Then the 44 hectares. It's an unmissable place, but with another charm in the fall since we are alone in the world!

Mushroom picking and searching for porcini mushrooms in Arès
We set off to pick up mushrooms with Alexandre, a nature guide from the Arès Tourist Office. Fortunately he is there, because he teaches us to recognize mushrooms, between edible ones and others.
But our gaze lingers above all on porcini mushrooms today: the little pleasure of the season!

Shore fishing on Bétey Beach
Still in the company of Alexandre, we go to the Betey Beach at low tide for a “fishing on foot” outing, to discover the marine ecosystem of the Bassin, and in particular the cockles!
To locate them, it's rather simple (after a little practice!), you have to observe the small holes in the sand. We dig a little and voila!
But be careful, you have to respect the mesh (the size of the shells). To keep a shell, it must be at least 3cms.
If the hull is too small, we put it back in the water.

As you will have understood, this weekend was placed under the sign of gluttony, but with the desire to find good products yourself, and above all to find out more about their environment! If you want to live the experience, contact Lège-Cap Ferret Tourist Office and that of Arès for picking and fishing on foot.
