Before all that, you will have to make a choice! Depending on your desires, it is possible to discover the profession ofoyster farmer or fisherman. Even if it remains a profession linked to the sea, we assure you that the experience has nothing to do with it. On the boat, in addition to showing you their trade, they will tell you about the history of the Bassin, fauna and flora with love. Imagine yourself on a fishing boat or on a barge in the middle of Arcachon Bay exchanging anecdotes… The dream!
The oyster farmers will take you to their oyster beds to turn oyster bags, put them in the water or recover them on land. Said like that, does it sound easy? We let you discover it! On the way back, the trip is as nice as going with a fresh oyster tasting ! And with lemon of course!
Coast fishermen, you will witness the setting up of the fishing equipment and the raising of the net. And you will see that the local fishermen have a lot of respect for nature. Small fish are immediately put back in the water! On your return, take the opportunity to pick up some great recipe ideas for your vacation!
Be careful, the tide does not wait!
Reservations required with authorized oyster farmers and fishermen. Count 45€/person to experience an oyster farming trip (duration: 5 hours) or fishing trip (duration: 4 hours). Plan a suitable outfit, no question of going there in flip-flops! You will leave according to the tide of the day: the departure may be at 6 a.m. or at 4 p.m. for example.
