Certes Estate Loop
A rich environment on the Leyre delta, the Domaine de Certes is located on one of the most important migratory routes for avifauna and constitutes a migratory site of international importance for many species of birds including the white spoonbill. Formerly a salt marsh, this vast area reclaimed from the sea, which has been converted into a fish farming site, is now dedicated to the protection of natural environments.
This 12.3 km circuit starts from the parking lot of Certes Castle and ends at the Lanton swimming pool. Guided nature tours are offered by the Gironde Departmental Council.
