A day between Skate & Surf: on your boards!
Let's ride!
The holidays are over but the sunny days are coming back and the temperatures are getting milder on Bassin. The sun gives pretty colors to the water and a light breeze delicately moves the grains of sand on the beaches of Arcachon. Charles, surfer and native of La Teste, takes advantage of the first rays of the day to rediscover the skatepark and tame the waves.

10 a.m.: Skate session in Pereire!
Head to the Pereire skatepark, renovated since the summer of 2019, it has a breathtaking view of the Bassin and the Pereire beach. You will definitely recognize its Venice Beach tunes! Two waterfront chocolatines later, it's time to slide into the bowl while waiting for the right conditions for surfing. Skateboarding is an ideal training to regain sensations, continue to practice sliding and work on your supports. The Arcachon skatepark is very popular with young people and children, it is suitable for all levels and offers several modules for the enjoyment of all. The warm-up is over, it's time to do the tricks. Charles spins his board in the morning sun. The silhouettes of the surrounding pines are drawn on the asphalt.

12:00 p.m.: In search of the wave!
It's 12:00 on the coast, Charles takes a little detour home. He picks up a sandwich and his bike, freshly delivered from the day before. Battery at full power, he sets off to look for a beautiful wave on the Salie Nord beach. He passes through the forest, the air is pleasant, the sun covers the branches. He is looking for the right spot. The forecasts were correct, waves of more than a meter and a wind of a few knots oriented offshore were confirmed. He spots a wave rolling out on a sandbank, it's time to surf.

2:30 p.m.: Sea, surf & sun
Fins on the board, wax to grip and leash on the ankle, Charles is ready. The wave is quite hollow, it's a left. She's fast, she needs a bit of speed in order to reach the perfect moment to do a trick, like a springboard. The power leaves him the possibility of doing a Roller then, a radical maneuver at the end of the wave. Charles spends more than 3 hours in the water. The weather, wind and temperature lend themselves to this. Other surfers join him.
Hint: The Roller, also called Top Turn, is a basic manoeuvre. It's a more or less powerful turn at the top of the wave. A good skate is characterized by a large displacement of water due to the rotation of the body and the fins!

6:30 p.m.: Sunset at Pyla
End of the day on the Bassin, Charles picks up some rubbish on the beach, as usual. The last tide and the last waves churned and brought the waste back to the sand. Now, what could be better than a beautiful sunset with your friends on the dune to gently end this day of skiing.
