A height of 104.2 m and 3 km long… and under our feet, millions of m3 of fine sand and 40 centuries of history! The Pilat dune is always moving, gradually covering the forest, under the action of the wind and the tides.
Smart tip : access to the Dune du Pilat remains free if you come on foot, by bike or by Baïa bus (€1 one way). Paid parking: €7/vehicle for 4 hours (contribution to the preservation of the listed site) .
Don’t think that the Dune du Pilat can only be visited in the summer! The colors and walks are incredible no matter what season of the year it is. Climb to the top from the steps installed from Easter to All Saints’ Day, or for the brave hike up through the sand!

Don't stop at the top of the stairs... walk along the crest of the Pilat dune!
Once at the top, take a deep breath and open your eyes wide! From the top of the Dune you’ll have a unique view of the Nature Reserve of Banc d'Arguin, the forest and the tip of Cap Ferret.
Walk along the Dune du Pilat, beyond the stairs to enjoy the Grand Site, in complete tranquility. At its foot, Corniche beach invites you for a refreshing break or a stroll along the water's edge! On the other side campsites welcome you.
Escape for a hike.You will discover endemic plants such as the immortelle des sables (dwarf everlast) which perfumes the air. From April to September, numerous nature activities are offered for both young and old. Meet at the Dune du Pilat information point!
