This spring we're taking the time... we're getting off the beaten track and engaging in slow mode for original "green" discoveries.

The adventure zero carbon begins at the gates of the Bassin in Arcachon. Arrived by train in one of the 6 stations which serve the area, we put on our sneakers and get on the bicycle. The Bassin from Arcachon is a few 220 km of cycle paths which wind towards remarkable and protected natural sites: from the Dune du Pilat to the Réserve Ornithologique du Teich passing through the Domain of Certainly and the Prés-Salés d’Arès-Lège and La Teste de Buch.

Our journalists from TVBA challenged themselves: go around the Bassin of Arcachon by bike ! Beyond a challenge, the desire to discovering our towns and villages differently and with complete simplicity whets our curiosity.
The appointment is therefore made early in the morning on the emblematic Port of Larros where the oyster huts are barely waking up. Our little queens take us on the slopes of the oak grove park and its canal steeped in history, until Arcachon seafront. There, we sets sail towards Cap Ferret on one of the maritime shuttles of theUBA which cross the Bassin. The Cap Ferret lighthouse looms on the horizon and the urge to take a dip in the ocean is too strong, we can't resist it! Nor can we resist a small oyster tasting. Cycling allows us towander the streets of the traditional villages of the peninsula and meet their inhabitants. Arrived at Ares, our crew dive into the forest for a gourmet break well deserved in front of the Andernos pier. We take the time... a detour through the wild coast, a colorful trip on the port of Biganos and our journey comes to an end.
Challenge met ! Bassin by bike is possible and it is (perhaps) the best :
The adventure on the “Sea” side
The Bassin from Arcachon is the smallest territory in France to benefit from so many nature protection and management tools. He is the 8th Marine natural park of France which covers 435 km2 of marine space with 127 km of coastal length.
Of the maritime treasures which can be discovered in a thousand ways…
In electric pinnace : departing from the port of La Teste de Buch, this traditional boat of the Bassin of Arcachon allows you to discover the Cabanes Tchanquées on Bird Island and approach the nature reserve of Banc d’Arguin. On the La Leyre Delta, it is galupe that families embark on an adventure worthy of the “little Amazon”.
Along the coast is an aquatic activity that is practiced all year round along the coasts of the Bassin of Arcachon and its magnificent beaches of Cap Ferret in Arcachon passing through Andernos, Lanton, Audenge…
Yoga paddle offers a mix between paddle boarding and yoga exercises with a breathtaking panorama: a true reconnection to ourselves and the elements around us. But the simple paddle is also king on the Bassin, notably on Arbousiers beach in Arcachon, sheltered from the current and the wind!
Gourmet, local and plant-based break
Because after effort comes comfort…we make a gourmet stop in one of the 90 oyster tasting cabins which surround the Bassin of Arcachon. They have allowed our oyster farmers to better promote their products in short circuits and are often used by locals who like to meet there!
