Discover Brazilian sports<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Rather dance or martial art? On the Bassin of Arcachon, we learn different Brazilian sports. The famous Afro-Brazilian art, capoeira (martial sport and dance) can be practiced on the Bassin in Arcachon with lessons for the little ones. In combat, players lean on their hands or feet to do acrobatics and kicks! This art took shape during slavery, when slaves were repressed by the colonists. Seen as a form of resistance, capoeira is still practiced today in groups. Capoeira is played or danced to a musical background. The musicians create a circle around the capoeiristas called the \u201croda\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Brazil there is a lesser known but equally popular sport: Brazilian jiu-jitsu. It is possible to test this activity on the Bassin in Arcachon. Imported from Brazil, Brazilian jiu-jitsu is not played like its standing neighbors, but on the ground. This martial art depends on the technique and not on the template. In Mios, the Aborisa Brasil Festival takes place every year! For several days, come and discover Brazilian culture, for a festive event! You can dance to the sounds of the batucada. This kind of Brazilian music<\/a> reminiscent of the samba. The batucada was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro and comes from the word batuque which means \u201cto play the tam tam\u201d in Portuguese. This music is derived from African, Indian and Portuguese culture. Percussions but not only! The batacuda is also played with the hands and feet. For those who wish, it is possible to participate in a percussion course, in order to learn to play the batacuda...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music and food! The Aborisa Brasil Festival also highlights Brazilian cuisine. Stop at the various food-trucks to taste one of the specialties. On the plate, it's colorful and tasty! Influenced by indigenous, African and Portuguese cuisines, Brazilian gastronomy is a tasty mix. Among the specialties, we find the feijoada made with red beans and pork. Accompany this dish with a fresh caipirinha to travel directly to Brazil!
